yesterday was the 9th day of ramadhan. so, i spent my free time doing solat terawikh at one of the three musollas near my home. as my mother was having her tech prob (new menstruation term given by mr ven, my ilmu studio's teacher), i went there alone. it was 830pm, and i was the second women arrived there, the first one is a makcik from the other block. to show some respect, i greeted her with a smile. after that, i sat quietly. no. i sat very quietly as mouse as there was no one around to talk with. i started playing with my fingers, observing the vast colours of sejadah inside the room, fixing my telekung here and there. it was totally bored. i've no friend here as i'm not too friendly with my neighbours. plus, i'm an outdoors. i go to school at 7, then i'll straight away attend my tuition classes. if i get some extra time, i'll stay at school or having my chittychatty chat at my friend's house. so, i dont have time to find new mates around here. well, if i do, there is no one here having their studies at my school (it's situated 5km away form my home). it's pretty little sad to live in this area.
a few mins later, the muazzin played his part doing the azan. at last, women started to come and fulled the 3 first line while the other 2 last lines are for the lil girls. the imam here recited many surah and the recitions made me realised that how small my ability to hafal (memorize) the long surah if compared to him. i felt like crying because i'm usually recite Al-Ans and Al-Ikhlas in my solat and i've done nothing or to be exact, i've no extra effort to recite another long surah which is should be memorised by a 17 matured, muslimah, girl like me. oh gosh. am i neglecting my Islam needs to be better in every single day? am i stupid? maybe i should do lots of self-reflextion after this. haih.. back to the story. after isyak, we had our solat terawikh. the most funny part landed at the beginning of the solat. it was the time when the imam recited some "ayat" before the solat could be started. he recited it very fast, like this :
" assolata sunnata al-tawarikhi jamiah rahimakumullahhh"
i said, "what the....? tawarikh?"
a makcik beside me also realised that. we glanced each other and giggled.
the makcik said, "apelah, orang terawikh, dye tawarikh". the other makciks agreed too, and we laught. it was a cool incident that made me "officially" became a part of the "golongan makciks" in the musolla. lol. after the witir, we had our delighful moreh (food given by the ppl to the musolla and distributed equally to all jemaah) such as meehoon, doughnuts, bubur pulut itam and... neslo! wow, i've never thought that the siak musolla (the committees who are in charge of preparing the moreh) would do neslo instead of giving us Milo, Kopi O, Teh O or my fav drink, Teh Tarik. the musolla has changed la, syarah. haha. (p/s: the musolla got air-cond too! dah majuu dahhh! haha!)
finally, the solat and moreh ended at 10 pm and i've told my mother about the imam's incident. this was her reaction :
we both burst into laughter. :D
